JESUS ARGULLES

Jesus Arguelles has served as a business financial strategist, an economic and real estate development consultant, an organizational management advisor and an investment banker for rapidly growing real estate, retail, service, manufacturing and internet-related industries as well as municipalities in Southern California since 1976.

One of his clients was featured in the March 1999 Issue of Inc's Magazine and another was SBA's Small Business of the Year in 1996. During his earlier years in public sector consulting, he conducted redevelopment and highest best use studies for the City of Los Angeles, the largest redevelopment agency in the United States. He also conducted management audits, organizational reviews and privatization analyses for numerous Southwest cities, counties and major non-profits. AB Capital specializes in raising capital and coaching entrepreneurs/senior management on business strategy and planning to aid in the transition from an entrepreneurial operated company to a professionally and successfully managed concern.

Jesus Arguelles received his formal education in economics, urban/regional planning, business administration and urban economic development from UCSB,USC,UCLA and MIT, respectively. He is an instructor in business and capital sourcing strategies and planning new and growing concerns. He authored and taught an innovative course on the development of business plans and feasibility studies for family-operated and closely-held companies and lectured on the implementation of regional economic development strategies at USC's Business Expansion Network, UCR's Education Extension Program and at the City of Coachella. Last year, he was a guest lecturer in the Business Planning and Venture Initiation Courses at UCLA's Anderson's School of Business. Mr. Arguelles is frequently quoted in Inc's Magazine and is the author of a bi-weekly column entitled "Expansion Capital" for a regional newspaper.

His recent speaking engagements include being the Featured Speaker at the 1998 Annual Carreon Foundation Scholarship Dinner on "The Value and Role of a College Education in Business Success" and the Invited speaker on "Community Business Attraction Strategies" at the Joshua Tree Economic Development Summit.

Jesus Arguelles is engaged in pro-bono activities, serving as the senior business coach for UCLA's MBA International Moot Corp. Business Plan Competition; Chairman of the Board of the Coachella Valley Date Company and a recent past community member of the Palm-Springs based Gannett Newspaper Desert Sun's Editorial Board. In the last 10 months, he served as a business coach and a business strategy and planning seminar presenter to more than 20 Victory Outreach Churches in the San Bernardino/Riverside/Las Vegas regions, to the Non-Profit Valley Partnership, La Quinta Arts Foundation, Arteach, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert, the Mourning Star Center and Family Service of the Desert.

Jesus Arguelles' past and more current Board participation include the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce-Co-Chair of the Growing Companies Committee, the State of California's Small Business Advisory Board-Co-Chair Capital Formation Task Force, the City of Los Angeles Community Reinvestment Committee, the Los Angeles Finance Academy, a non-profit promoting and awarding scholarships to seniors that are college-bound and committed to the fields of economics and finance and the Austin-based National Latino Children's Institute. Also, he conceptualized and assisted in the formation of the Greater Los Angeles Latin Business Association's Foundation to promote and seek funding for business training, economic development and access to capital projects.
