NORMAN A. TRAUB

Norman A. Traub provides consulting services to public and private sector clients, specializing in strategic planning, creative problem-solving, advanced management, managing innovations, problem-oriented policing, team building and goal setting workshops, managing diversity, ethics in public service, total quality management, executive searches and assessment centers. He focuses on organizational excellence, special personnel problems, classification studies, and personnel investigations.

He has worked extensively with city, county and state organizations, including: California Department of General Services, California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control, County of Los Angeles, Riverside County Sheriff and District Attorney, Coachella Valley Association of Governments. Cities include: Long Beach, Anaheim, Santa Monica, Fontana, Buena Park, Bell, South Gate, Escondido, Murrieta, La Habra, Coachella, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, Alhambra, Greenfield, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, Stantion, Placentia, Chino, Beaumont, Upland and Banning.

Norman A. Traub has served as an instructor, presenting seminars for Rancho Santiago College, Chapman College, Cypress College, California State University System (Long Beach, Fullerton, Los Angeles), University of New Mexico. He has conducted numerous management classes for the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST).

Norman A. Traub spent many years in public service, having served as police chief and interim city manager for the City of Orange, CA and the City of Placentia, CA as well as police chief of Culver City, CA. He received his AA degree from Santa Monica College, AB in public management from Pepperdine University and an MA in public administration from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Josephson Institute of Ethics and numerous executive development courses. He is past president of the Orange County Chiefs of Police and Sheriff's Association and member of the Orange County Criminal Justice Council. He has received several awards and special recognition, including Police Chief of the Year from the Law Enforcement Management Center and the California Youth Authority Distinguished Service Award. Several articles written by him have been published in newspapers and professional journals.
