The Adventure Pass is required for recreation use of the forest, its facilities and services. Passes are displayed upon the visitors parked vehicle. If no vehicle is parked, no pass is required. The fee does not apply to vehicles in tow. Since this is a recreational "use" fee and not a fee for "entry" to the National Forest, no pass is required for travel through, nor for activities that are "incidental" to thru-travel, such as stopping to take a photograph or use a restroom. Vehicles that do not display a valid pass in the windshield may receive a Notice of Non-compliance. There are exemptions to the requirement for an Adventure Pass. Larger developed recreation sites like campgrounds may require a separate fee.

Note: The Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior announced that Veterans Day November 11th will be a new permanent Free Day. Now there are three (3) Free Days annually. The new Veterans Day Free Day will always be observed on November 11th regardless of the day of the week upon which it falls. If you accidentally validate your Daily Adventure Pass for a "free" date, you may exchange it for a new Day Pass at any Forest Service office in Southern California. Campground and concessionaire fees still apply. Call the Arrowhead / Skyforest Ranger Station for more information about "free days" - (909) 337-2444.
